Scope of Work
Perform installation of 6 small-diameter rock anchors for a tower site modification atop a ski mountain in central NH. The access to the job limited the drilling equipment to be old-fashioned hard work via a jack hammer for 2.5-inch diameter holes at 10 feet deep.
Challenges
The challenge was the drilling. MD&B has completed many jobs atop mountains where you spend as much time getting to the site as you do completing the work. The key is to have a plan in place to get the job done right. Here we had the challenge of selecting the right equipment and using it in a safe manner to get the job done.
Outcome
MD&B worked with the Contractor to get the anchors drilled and installed in a safe and efficient manner with no injury and sacrificed no quality, employing tremie grouting techniques.
