Upgrading existing hydro facility. Installing rock anchors at existing dam. Drilling and blasting immediately adjacent to existing dam for new intake, tailrace, and turbine generator.
Challenges
Working in very close proximity to existing dam. Working behind a cofferdam installed to divert water away from work area. Working to high tolerances on both rock removal and vibration criteria.
Outcome
Work completed safely and on schedule.
