How We Support Our Communities

Long known as a responsible and good corporate citizen, Maine Drilling & Blasting has a long history of supporting charitable causes and non-profit organizations in the communities we service by donations and now, volunteer time.

MD&B’s philanthropic goals include improving lives, benefiting local causes and charitable interests, creating an even deeper connection to our communities, furthering social responsibility, and promoting broader employee engagement. “We do this simply because it’s the right thing to do for our communities” says Dan Werner, President & CEO. Maine Drilling & Blasting gives back through four distinct avenues.

Employee Volunteerism

Many of our employees demonstrate their compassion by volunteering for various causes, and on their own time. Beginning in January 2019, a formal Volunteer Time Off program was begun company-wide to strengthen our collective impact. The Volunteer program is designed around our non-profit partners, creating community engagement opportunities for MD&B employees that are meaningful, purposeful, and help those in need.

Support & Sponsorships

Maine Drilling & Blasting entertains specific requests from our vendors and customers, MD&B management and employees, alike. We do our best to support worthy initiatives and sponsor charity events across the geography we service.

Regional Holiday Giving

Each of our regions select local organizations and causes to support in the communities in which they operate. Each region works independently to raise funds for community organizations ratcheting up activities and distribution around year-end holidays. Coat and food drives, along with auctions, are common employee activities. Assistance is given in many forms – direct giving, donated goods and supplies, holiday gifts for families in need, and care packages.
